Looking for Fun or Food in Club Med Bintan Ria?

“Vacation is about fun & food. When food is not a good enough option, look out for fun, most out of all!”

Revisiting Club Med Bintan Ria was my wish, and I just did, after 8 years. It was done with my two children, this time. I had something to say… Yea, once lauded Club Med Bintan in my old posts (year 2008) as one of the best all-inclusive resorts that served plentiful great food, I felt the obligation to pen down the latest experience of my most recent visit there. Sang Kee Fresh Fish Soup Bee Hoon at Sheung Wan, Hong Kong Island (上環生記鮮魚汤米线)

“Eat what the locals eat.”

We booked our hotel accommodation in Tin Hau area (next to Causeway Bay) where plenty of yummy street food were found. Right after checking in, we were eager to find some food to fill our famished stomachs. However, we did not hang around Tin Hau area for street food. I thought the popular noodle soup would be just right for us, for its convenient location in Sheung Wan, where I needed also to shop for my soy sauce (from Kowloon Soy Co.), and some nice and cheap boots from a streetside stall there. Without further delay, we set off quickly, by MTR. More

“Enjoy luxury afternoon tea in this elegant rendezvous at The Peninsula Hotel, HK (香港半島酒店)”
Apparently, this was a trend. Really. Seemingly dedicating only to the rich and formal, countless numbers of tourists were spotted, too.

Yes, this place. An elegant afternoon tea rendezvous for the rich “tai tai” (wealthy Mrs.), often featured in the Hong Kong TVB shows. In Hong Kong, they called it, 嘆下午茶 (taan haa mm cha). Haha.. It made me curious to find out more. More
