Turmeric Coconut Rice Recipe (黄姜椰漿飯食谱)

Turmeric Coconut Rice Recipe (黄姜椰漿飯食谱) is an express way to put two of my favourite rice dishes into one.

Not that I am lazy, just trying to be efficient. 😬

黄姜,椰浆,傻傻分不清楚。懒人?聪明人?2合1快捷煮法!😝

Turmeric Coconut Rice Recipe (黄姜椰漿飯食谱) Recipe

Serves 6
供6份

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of rice grain
  • 2 cups of Japanese short grain rice
  • 3 cups of coconut milk
  • 2 teaspoons of turmeric powder
  • 1 thick slice of ginger
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • Pinch of sugar
  • 4 screwpine leaves (pandan leaves), tied into knot

    材料
  • 1杯香米
  • 2杯日本短米
  • 3杯椰奶
  • 2茶匙姜黄粉
  • 1片厚姜片
  • 1茶匙盐
  • 一小撮白糖
  • 4片斑斓叶 (香兰叶),系成结

Method to cook Turmeric Coconut Rice Recipe (黄姜椰漿飯食谱)


Cook your rice as usual in rice cooker. Instead of water, add in coconut milk. Stir in turmeric powder, salt and sugar. Place ginger and pandan leaf in the rice pot. Cook rice in cooker.

做法:
像往常电饭煲煮饭煮一样,但不加水,还椰奶。再加入姜黄粉,盐和糖。将姜和斑斓叶放入锅中。按键煮饭即可。

Instead of using glutinous rice, I used Japanese rice for the stickiness in the rice.

A serving of my turmeric coconut rice for a Nasi lemak dinner counts about 500kcal.

一份黄姜椰浆饭约500卡路里。

Tips:

  • Get the instant Japanese rice which doesn’t need to soak for hours. If not, just follow the direction on its packaging to cook it.
  • May use fresh turmeric. Mince it.

温馨小贴士:

  • 使用即时日本米,不需要浸泡数小时。如果用的是许浸泡的,只需按照包装上的指示进行烹饪即可。
  • 可用新鲜黄姜,打成末。
