Christmas, Christmas.. It’s ok if you do not wish to cook during Christmas season, no problem, I shall bring you to somewhere you will surely love! That’s right, it’s my new favorite dining place, for fried chicken, waffles and more!
The Bird’s signature dish, Chicken ‘n’ Watermelon ‘n’ Waffles. Thier fried chicken is brined in the owner’s special 100-year-old family recipe for almost 27 hours before putting it to fry. You could already imagine the full flavor that has fully packed into the chicken! How could it be not good…..
On the menu, you’ll also find other classic dishes, from appetizers to desserts, for instances, the Deviled Egg, Fried Green Tomato BLT, Shrimp ‘N’ Grits, Buttermilk Biscuits, Butter Lettuce & Grilled Mango Salad, Banana Pudding and Cafe Cream Brûlée.. Seriously, there is nothing that I don’t like here. At least, the listed were what I truly enjoyed.
Classic shrimp & grits in flavorful chicken jus. Prawn was pan-seared with freshly ground black pepper. Paired with toppings of sundried tomato and shredded fresh raw red onions, aged Kentucky country ham, and spring onion. Milky grits was silken smooth and milky flavour.
Savory, citrusy, strong hint of fresh dill in the yolk. Sure it was with smooth consistency.
Loved the smoked tomato jam which balances the strong smoked pork belly. Starting from first layer, the frisée, followed by tomato jam, pork belly, pimento cheese and the fried green tomato. Such contrast arrangement balances out the taste of each individual item. Each layering elevates the taste in the palate. None of these is overpowering.
The Bird, indeed, a great dining place for all occasions. Yes, no one would ever stop you from dropping by for just a casual meal. Ditch the diet, I am going again on my own tomorrow!
