Guacamole Light

image“Your healthy refreshing version of avocado dips!”

If you are a fan of avocado, you sure will like this version of guacamole. The sour cream honey guacamole. An option for quick snack, simple light lunch or even tea.

Yes, it’s simple, healthy, refreshing and, addictive. :)

And, I wouldn’t stop telling you how great and healthy benefiting avocado is. For both the adults and children. Other than the rich vitamins and mineral it has, it’s also one of the good fats our body needs. Regular consumption of avocado benefits our brain.

I simply enjoy this fruit.

Yields 150ml
2 ripe avocados, peeled and pitted
1 small white onion, finely diced
1 wedge of lemon
1 tablespoon of light sour cream
1 tablespoon of honey
Small pinch of salt

Method
(1) Finely mash avocado. Squeeze lemon juice and drizzle on the mashed avocado.

(2) Stir in sour cream, honey and salt. Add white onion. Mix well. Chill and serve with tortilla chips or plain crackers.

Half the portion provides you about 200kcal.

How to choose the right ripeness of avocado?
Choose those which have already turned black on the skin, but not too soft when gentle press. Getting those already soft enough when pressed on it usually turn out bad inside, unless you are ready to eat it right away.. Many advised not to place in the fridge to ripen, but I personally liked to place in the fruits drawer compartment for 3-4 days before consumption. Press on the fruit to check its ripeness before cutting. Remember, it’s ready only when the fruit turns soft enough to press, just like pressing on dough. :)

Tips: Store in air tight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
* Add diced tomatoes for more bites.
* Omit the salt at all, if it’s to be given to the little ones.
