“My easy-peasy one-dish-meal version of Mapo tofu”
Happened to chance upon a Japanese version of spicy bean paste at $2 Daiso store. Hence, made a dish with this instant paste and a block of silken tofu I had for quite some time as well as whatever was available in my refrigerator.
Simple and easy recipe I have created for tonight’s dinner. It was subtly tasted with just a hinge of spiciness from the bean paste. So, if you are a fan of super spicy dish, add chili oil to it.
1 block of silken tofu, large cubed
1 bowl of sweet corn kernel, pre-boiled to cook and soften (from 1 sweet corn)
150g of minced meat, seasoned with light soy sauce and sesame oil
Did I tell you that I bought a Happy Call Pan? Actually, I bought this a while ago through online purchase which comes with some small freebies, e.g. silicon dish mat, extra sealer strips, and etc. Oh yes, I did… Hey, I am not here to promote any Happy Call products in my post, simply sharing what I have gotten for my cooking use. And, sorry for not sharing with you immediately (really tired during this ‘crucial’ period), but today, I have a simple and healthy recipe, cooking with this pan. Also, to show you another way to use the bottled mushrooms in your cooking.

Here we have a healthy dish to be categorized as an easy and fuss free cooking. This steamed fish in egg paste surely is one of the best fitted dishes in this category. I learned this recipe from one of the TVB cooking shows I have watched and this, is an adaption to their recipe.
Why is it named ‘safe-for-all’? The reason being (which explained by the chef in the show), this dish would be an easy-to-consume fish dish for all ages. From the aged to young diners, there is no need to worry about nor watch out for fish bones while having fed in large mouthful scoops.

Steamed fish is always the best diet for health and diet conscious diners which include, me. :)
Nothing really special for this steamed fish, but I had excessive tomatoes to go along with it. Healthier and more complete as 1-dish meal. The tomatoes also added zesty flavor to my steamed fish and made this fish dish taste more refreshing in a more natural way.
For choice of whole fish, choose sea watered Sea Bass instead of fish from fresh water, to avoid any chance of muddy taste in it. Or, choose any other whole white fleshed fish. Remember, it has to be real fresh!

Hey! I continued to post about this tofu dish… Mind me, it was because I wanted to tell you more about this particular dish and to introduce it to you as usual Chinese dishes now, since this is not the ‘original‘ version, but the modified one by pan-frying/ sautéing method (smile).
No worries, I am not repeating the recipe which you may find it in previous post, I just wanted to share with you my experience in cooking this tofu dish down to details, with some cooking tips and cautions to be taken starting from preparing till cooking, too.
