A “Not-So” Valentine’s Bombs (Cheese & Garlic Butter Biscuits)

“Anytime, any day, with these light tasted biscuits, actually.”

With the recipe’s name, you know it was for the day. Oh, sorry.. it’s just butter biscuit, actually. Since today’s Valentine’s Day which coincides with Lunar Renri (Human’s birthday in Chinese), it seemed like a big day that I had to do something.. Simple baking, but I tried to make some of my biscuits into heart shape, just for the sake of the festive. :D

Crispy on the crust, and cottony soft inside. That’s the wonder of using buttermilk in the recipe. To make cottony soft texture of a bake. Yes, that’s the trick. read more

Seaweed Crisps (Air-Fried)

“One of the easiest air fried CNY snacks”

Yes, I considered this the easiest and relatively healthier snack for the Chinese Lunar New Year celebration, adding on to its healthier cooking method, air frying.

This snack could be made in various ways and flavors. No doubt, those added with seasonings taste better, at the same time, less healthy. I reckoned homemade with minimal (better types of) ingredients. Mine? Moderately good, in term of taste and nutritional value, good enough to let your older toddler to enjoy it. :) read more

Moist and fluffy Banana Sponge Cake

One of my favorite pastime activities is to bake with my little one. Meaningful, loving, fulfilling, educational, and most of all, indulging.

My 3-yo son and I baked at the noon, just in time to indulge in this super soft and fluffy sweet treat as our tea.

Oh yes, I always get a large comb of bananas which we never able to finish up before having to feed the overripe to the trash bin. How come I never thought freezing them?? This idea just came to my mind! I was simply insane for wasting how many bananas away throughout the years!! I’ve learnt and gotten myself to freeze bananas in the freezer just yesterday! Chow Mien (Stir Fried Chinese Yellow Noodle 炒面) for Toddler

“Get a child to get oyster mushrooms in this simple vegetarian Chow Mien? How about having it better by adding the super food, Quinoa, as well as liquid aminos, into his meals?”

My son loves the Chinese yellow noodle (Chinese alkaline noodle), usually being prepared in soup as fish balls noodle soup selling at most of the hawker centers, food courts and coffee shops in Singapore and other parts of Asia.

This thin yellow noodle would also commonly be cooked in fried noodle (Chinese Chow Mien) or the Mee Goreng (Indian fried noodle) style which easily found selling outside. Having that said, these fried noodles selling at the stores are usually over seasoned or spicy. read more
