Layer cake is an expensive cake to purchase at bakery, especially at those renowned bakeries such as bengawan solo and etc. The layer-cake costs about $18 to $45. Actually the high price of this layer cake, not just for its taste, but also the effort of making such cake. It’s time consuming as it’s baked layer by layer.

Super Moist Yellow Cake

“A near 100% successful bake for a beginner baker”

I baked a cake this evening! This was my 3rd time baking a cake. Chocolate cakes I have made for the first two times, first was typically full recipe while second baking was using cake mix. Of course, second one was more successful as it was the easiest and simplest way for a beginner baker to bake a cake without much failure (chuckling). It’s typically a 3-step baking method: Mix, beat and bake.

In order to save time, I used cake mix again, and chose “yellow” flavor this time. “Yellow”, I guess it should be original flavor… No indication of butter or vanilla used. Just called it “Yellow” on the box. It contains wheat and milk, and tastes like butter plus vanilla flavour. I supposed to get a chocolate frosting, too. However, I have forgone it as I wish to taste its original flavour as first time trial.

The cake mix used was from Betty Crocker brand, costs $3.65 per pack. My baking turned out pretty successfully, despite much lesser water was used (only 2 tablespoon of water). It was a little crispy on the surface (a cake crack shown might due to dryness or I shall shorten the baking time a little :p), but pretty tender and soft inside though. (Frankly, my cake was much denser where it supposed to be super moist, if original measurement of water [½ cup] added.) Its taste was pleasant with extra aroma. More

Yogurt is one of the staple food in my refrigerator. To eat it more interestingly, I find all sort of ways to have yogurt added to my dessert or fruits dishes.

Ham and Cheese Toasted Sandwich

Toast is bread which has been heated dry, with oven toaster or baking oven. I like toasting plain sliced bread and then spread the fruit jam, butter with sugar, condensed milk or kaya (coconut-egg jam), or make toasted sandwich with extra toppings.

Toast is crispy and pleasant to eat while it’s warm. However, toasting has to be lightly and do not set too high heat (if using baking oven which heat setting is needed), otherwise, the bread will be harden. Lightly browned toast will be just nice. Toast is simply perfect as breakfast to start your great day. I like to have the toast with soft-boiled eggs and a cup of aromatic hot low-fat coffee or ginger flavoured milk tea! French Toast with Honey

I always make this for tea time or when I can’t finish the loaf of bread purchased more than 3 days (it’s harden and not so nice to eat it plain).

One could easily swipe away 4 slices of toast made with this simply-easy recipe. I could at least eat 3 slices at one go, no joke. Milk bread, honey, and berries, I considered this dish as healthy snack and good breakfast. More
